How public sharing lets a person read a run's report without signing in, and when to turn it on
Public sharing lets a person read a scheduled insight report without signing in to SEINō. It is disabled by default.
What public sharing applies to
Section titled “What public sharing applies to”Public sharing is a setting on the insight, not on a single run. Turn it on, and anyone with a link can read any run of that insight. That includes runs SEINō sent before you turned it on. Turn it off, and all those links stop working at once. A reader who opens one sees a page saying the report is not there. A shared link needs no sign-in and it never expires, so treat it the way you treat the report itself. Previews are never shared, even while Public sharing is on.
What a reader sees
Section titled “What a reader sees”A shared page shows three things: the insight’s title, the date of the run, and the report. It shows nothing else from your workspace.
When to turn public sharing on
Section titled “When to turn public sharing on”Turn public sharing on when someone who needs the report cannot sign in to SEINō:
- A recipient has no SEINō account. They can read the full report, and not only the summary in the email.
- You are an agency, and your client is that recipient. You build the insight in the client’s workspace. The client is not a member of that workspace, so the link is the only way they can read the report.
- A webhook sends the report to another system. The report arrives in a Slack channel, a ticket, or an intranet page. Whoever opens the link there is not signed in to SEINō.
